In the spring of 2011 Grammy award winning artist Imogen Heap started working on her fourth solo album. For the first song she started a two week project which involved the fans in the making of the song, the album artwork and the music video. For the album artwork she was going to have a digital 3D-booklet called a Streemliner. All communication went through twitter and the live video-blogs that she made every night.
On the second night of the project Imogen told the story behind the song and then asked everybody to send in pictures that could be part of the artwork. I instantly knew that I wanted to do a paper cut out and also knew what it was going to look like. I only had 24 hours though, and spend the entire time the following day doing the cut out. There were no time for breaks and my hands were aching at the end of the night, but I made it in time and uploaded a photo to the pool of almost 3000 photos that had been submitted for the project.
The next couple of weeks I couldn’t think of anything else and while following the process of Imogen making the song, I also watched my picture being added to the group of favorites (the ones that had a chance of being used), and finally
saw it ending up in the artwork with my name on the credits list.
